Opening hours

The DCP is open from 8:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

To submit samples outside the normal opening hours, place samples on the trolley (see photo) found at the main entrance of the building between the outside and inside doors. Samples may be placed there between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Further guidelines and information sheets can be found on the trolley. You must sign a release form indicating that the DCP is not responsible for the state of the material submitted outside of the normal opening hours.

Directions

On public transport

The nearest large railway station is Gent-Sint-Pieters. In front of the railway station, take bus 49 “Gent-Herzele-Geraardsbergen” to Lemberge (a small village with only one stop; about 25 minutes on the bus). Turn left onto Burg. Van Gansberghelaan, in the direction of Melle. ILVO's Van Gansberghelaan buildings are located 350 meters from the bus stop.

By car

Via the E40 from Brussels: leave the motorway at exit 16 (Merelbeke). Follow the signs for “Faculteit Diergeneeskunde” (Faculty of Veterinary Science). Take the bridge over the E40 motorway. At the first roundabout (the entrance of the Faculteit Diergeneeskunde) drive ahead along the Salisburylaan and then take the first left to Lemberge. Look for the church on your left, and then take the first left toward Gontrode. You are now on the Burgemeester Van Gansberghelaan. Each building is clearly marked with an ILVO sign.

Via the E40 from Ghent: or as an alternative route from Brussels, leave the E40 motorway at exit 16 (Merelbeke). From the E17: follow signs for the R4 at the Destelbergen exit. Take the R4 in the direction direction Wetteren / E40 Brussel. Take the E40 motorway, direction Brussels. Leave the E40 motorway at exit 16 (Merelbeke). At the first roundabout (the entrance of the Faculteit Diergeneeskunde) drive ahead along the Salisburylaan and then take the first left to Lemberge.
